Hey sorry it's been a couple of weeks but anyways I am back at school jus finished my first week of classes.
Something that has really been convicting me these last few days is Matthew 16:24-25 which states, "Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." I have really been reflecting on this the last couple of days, I think what is is saying is that we are not put on this earth to do our own will but to live for Christ. We in way need to be able to check out, I am a UFC fan but I am going to make a wrestling analogy, ok so when a fighter gets tired they can "tapout" all this means is they go to the side of the ring and they tell another fighter hey I'm done take over for me. They reach there hand out and switch places by going on the side lines. This is what God wants us to do, he wants us to tapout and wait on the sidelines while he does the work for us. But in order to allow this to happen we must be willing to tapout and allow someone to take over, its tough sometimes because sometimes I really wanna go watch a movie that is not benificial or I wanna hangout with people instead of reaching out to someone new. We must make it a habit to allow ourselves to tapout or checkout every day. We must learn to lose ourselves, lose our lives every day in order to gain life. We must become a slave to christ in order to gain life. I would really encourage people to take a look at every day separately and ask God to help us "tapout".
